If you're a music buff, you know that 'Heart and Soul' is based on one of the most generic chord progressions in history. If you're not a music buff, well... 'Heart and Soul' is based on one of the most generic chord progressions in history. Just how generic? Just watch.

Sam:
Yo.
Paul:
I think we've gotten to the point where we're making mostly funny videos, just like the slogan says.
Sam:
Mostly. Mostly.
Paul:
What?
Sam:
Like in "Alien"... "mostly".
Paul:
I don't really do pop culture references. And I think I've only watched funny movies for the past decade.
Sam:
You don't even TiVo or Netflix non funny things?
Paul:
At this point, I'm so deep in the viral videos world I only watch movie previews or trailers. And only if they're doing something unique.
Sam:
Our sweet-ass plasma HDTV is completely wasted on you. I'm going to sell it for some magic beans on eBay. And remind me to beat you with a stick tomorrow.

you definitely could've picked better songs withthe progression... the chorus of What's my Age Again, Swing Swing.... Fur Elise was just a bad choice.

yeah. most of these songs don't even go with the heart and soul chord progression. this guy is just playing the melody over these chords in the tonic. DOUBLE LAME.

most of these songs aren't really I IV ii Vs; they're just all diatonic like the chord progression. LAME
